WHAT IS THE EXCHANGE RATE?
"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction" was the basis of the thought of the Man that asked "What is the exchange rate (that is, what will I give in exchange) for me not to die in my Sins?" when the Gospel of Christ was preached to him.
It is essential for Man to know that the wages of sin is surely death (the equal and opposite reaction for sinning) but what does the Bible call the exchange rate for Man not to perish as a result of sinning;
Romans 6:23 KJV For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Even though Man the wages of sin is death which has caused Man to come short of the glory of God and been dead spiritually but life is still offered to Man from God to disannual the eternal condemnation to death on Man. And the life God offered Man as solution to death is called gift.
Romans 3:23-24 KJV [23]For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [24]Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Even though all that have sinned has come short (that is, to lack) the glory (life) of God in them due to sinning but the Bible now made us to understand that the same Man that was short of God's glory has now been freely justified through the redemption that is found only in Christ Jesus. Freely justified mentioned here is important to take note that Man is not ask to work for his justification so that God can give him His life. It is given as a gift.
So get it away from the front and back of your mind that God need anything from you before he can give you His life. He offered it as a free gift to all Humanity (EVERYONE);
John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
So it will be a mistake on a Man's path to think God require of him to give something in exchange for him to be justified before God. God has already given it as a free gift and the response of Man can never be more than to accept the free gift. Or do you offer something before anyone can give you a gift? If you offer something in exchange, then it is no longer a gift.
Romans 3:25 KJV Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
(NB: Not that the sins are nothing to God or that no payment was made so that Man won't be punished for the sins but God paid for the sins Himself through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and offered the justification to Man as free gift after paying for the price). So the exchange rate is nothing more than you accepting that is, believing in the free gift (Jesus Christ) that was used as the price paid on Man's behave at his death, burial and resurrection.
